Course Description

Welcome to the Robotic Surgery Introduction Workshop, organized by ISLE ACADEMY under the scientific direction of the Greek Society of Coloproctology.

Join us on April 3-4, 2024, at ISLE ACADEMY for an immersive experience designed to explore the latest advancements in robotic surgery. Throughout this 2-day event, participants will delve into a comprehensive agenda, covering essential topics such as the indications and benefits of robotic surgery in general surgery, the present and future of colorectal surgery and robotic platforms, and contemporary trends in AI & AR in surgery.

Attendees will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through small group rotations at various workstations, where they will explore DaVinci Simulation, analyze case studies, familiarize themselves with port placement and robotic accessories, and practice intracorporeal anastomosis. Our expert faculty will provide insights, tips, and tricks to enhance participants’ understanding and proficiency in robotic colorectal surgery.

The workshop serves as a Pre-Congress Workshop for the “2nd Athens Coloproctology Meeting on Rectal and Anal Cancer” but is also a standalone workshop for seasoned professionals looking to expand their skill set or newcomers eager to explore the possibilities of robotic surgery.
